Teaching Clients to Use Mindfulness Skills in DBT™

Course Date:

Course Location:

Live Training via Zoom

Course Length:

2 Days

Course Description

This two-day online workshop is specifically designed for mental health professionals interested in integrating mindfulness skills into their Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) practice. Building on a decade of successful applications from the book “Teaching Clients to Use Mindfulness Skills” by Dr. Christine Dunkley and Dr. Maggie Stanton, this course provides an updated approach, including insights from a newly added chapter on tailoring mindfulness practices to diverse client groups.

Participants will gain practical tools to introduce mindfulness to clients who may not have initially sought out mindfulness training, learn how to overcome common obstacles to mindfulness practice, and how to take shaping feedback to ensure clients can effectively incorporate these skills into their daily lives.

The workshop includes an optional third day dedicated to enhancing participants’ personal mindfulness practices, allowing for a deeper understanding of the techniques they will be teaching.

1. Explain Mindfulness as a part of DBT: Understand and articulate the role of mindfulness within the DBT framework.
